Bing Bingham has been an active member of the Ohio Quiz Bowl scene for over 10 years and is invested in the future of Ohio's high school quizbowl circuit. Bing was a founder of the Wright State Quiz Bowl team, coached the Northmont Middle School Academic Challenge Team, and has written for OAC for many years.
Pete Bergman has taught English at Solon High School since 1999, and currently teaches 10th Grade Honors and 10th Grade College Prep. He received a B.A. in English 7-12 from Ithaca College and an MST in English from Binghamton University. Pete became Solon AC's coach in 2014 and is looking forward to continuing the school's strong tradition after a successful season with a 2nd place NAQT State finish as well as strong showings at both HSNCT and NSC. Pete was originally a music major in college and still occasionally finds time to play the drums, or maybe acoustic guitar depending on time of day.
Bob Kilner received his Bachelors degree in Secondary Education from Kent State in 2006 and his Masters in Educational Technology from Boise State in 2011. He has been a science teacher at Eastlake North High School in Lake County since 2007. As the coach at Garfield Heights HS from 2001-08, his teams won 776 matches, 2 OAC state championships (2007, 2008) and 2 NAQT state championships (2006 and 2008). Since 2008, Bob has stayed active in the quiz bowl community by writing questions for various leagues and tournaments around Ohio, and reading and running tournaments mostly in northeast Ohio. From 2006-24, he ran the wildly popular TRASH all-pop culture tournament at various sites around Ohio. Bob is a longtime high school and summer baseball coach. He also is the President of the Great Ohio Coaster Club, the 3rd-largest roller coaster enthusiasts' club in the country. In his free time, he enjoys a second life as a semi-professional photographer and traveling the country to ride as many new roller coasters each year as he can. He is very open to giving advice and helping both new and experienced coaches around the state, but especially in northeast Ohio. Ron Maupin earned his B.S. in Secondary Education from Miami University in 1998 and his Masters in Education Administration from the University of Dayton in 2005. He has been a social studies teacher at Little Miami High School since 2000. He has served as the head coach of the Little Miami High School academic team since 2010. As head coach, his teams have won six Southwest Ohio Conference (SWOC) titles (2013-2015, 2017-2019) and three Eastern Cincinnati Conference (ECC) titles (2021-2023). He has been named SWOC Coach of the Year four times (2013-2015, 2019) and ECC Coach of the Year twice (2021 & 2022). His teams have also won five OAC Southwest Regional championships (2017-2019, 2021 & 2023). Prior to being head coach, he served as the Little Miami assistant coach from 2001-2009. He also hosts the annual Little Miami Academic Challenge.

Lynn obtained her B.S. from Miami University and has been teaching History and English at Fisher Catholic High School since 1981, where she also coaches. Lynn taught inside the Fairfield County Jail for two years, and she loves to travel. Lynn and Mike Sedlack are also the tournament directors for the SE Regional.
Brian obtained his B.S. from the University of Missouri and his M. Ed from the University of Cincinnati. He is currently a math teacher at Walnut Hills High School and formerly taught at Lakota West High School where he coached their academic team since 2006. He also is the tournament director for the SW Regional.
Missy Hardy earned her B.A. from Miami University and her M.S. from Northwestern University in 1995. After teaching math for twenty-six years in Illinois and in Ohio, Missy left teaching to become the Director of Family Ministry at Madeira-Silverwood Presbyterian Church in 2021. Missy coached the Academic Quiz Team at Clermont Northeastern High School from 2008 through 2021, leading her team to many league championships and a top ten finish at the Small School National Championship Tournament before the pandemic. Despite leaving the teaching profession, Missy has continued coaching, now in her second year with the Indian Hill High School Quiz Team. In her free time, Missy enjoys exercising, re-learning to play the trumpet, and watching her son play baseball.
Tommy Segi attended Chaminade Julienne Catholic High School, graduating in 2000. At CJ, he was on the quiz bowl team and the varsity baseball team. Tommy received my B.A. in History from Ohio University in 2005. At OU, he was an active member of the "college bowl" academic team and also the president of the club baseball team. In 2007, he earned my Master's Degree in Recreation Administration from Georgia Southern University. He is currently a leadership trainer for Chick-fil-A and an OHSAA certified basketball referee. Since 2012, he has been a volunteer moderator and scorekeeper at NAQT national championships and coach of Springboro since 2022. Tommy is passionate about quiz bowl and providing a quality experience to students at every tournament. In his spare time, he likes to travel, play golf, and bowl.

Tyler Benedict is a middle school English teacher at The Miami Valley School in Dayton. He holds a dual BA in English and Middle Eastern, South Asian, and African Studies from Columbia University. Tyler is a graduate of MVS and played quiz bowl there from 2005-2009. In 2014-15, Tyler founded the MVS middle school quiz bowl program, which has since experienced success in both state and national competitions. He currently coaches the MVS middle and high school teams, and he has served as the Ohio NASAT coordinator since 2017.
Simon Zimmerman is currently in his second year at the Ohio State University, where he is studying Political Science and History on a pre-law track. He also serves as the Vice President of the Ohio State University Academic Team, one of the most active collegiate quizbowl teams. In this capacity, he aids in planning and logistics for the team, as well as doing work in high school outreach. Before Ohio State, Simon attended Olentangy Berlin High School, where he played quizbowl for three years, and he currently serves as a mentor to their team.
Joshua Queen played quiz bowl for all 4 years at Southeastern High School in Ross County where he was the leading scorer for 2 years. He graduated in 1999 and then attended the Ohio State University where he graduated with a B.S. in Biological Sciences. He earned a Masters from Shawnee State in Curriculum and Instruction. He has taught Physical Science and Physics at Chillicothe High School from 2006-2023 where he also coached quiz bowl. He has helped run many tournaments around southern and central Ohio and is always looking for more chances to spread opportunities in quiz bowl to those areas.
Tom has been involved on the statewide quiz bowl scene since 2014 as an eight-time moderator at the State tournament, a fall tournament director, a question writer for various leagues statewide and a year as a volunteer assistant coach at Olentangy Liberty. An alum of a Small School program, as a player he was a back-to-back First Team All-Ohio selection in Bob Kilner’s “OAC Report” publication for 2013 and 2014. A Columbus resident, Tom holds a dual-BA in Pre-Public Administration and Sociology & Anthropology from Ohio Wesleyan. His free time outside of quizbowl includes color commentary for football, basketball and baseball radio broadcasts within the Mid-State League and Ohio Capital Conference, and the grieving process that come with Pittsburgh Pirates fandom. Tom sees academic extracurriculars (like quizbowl) as capable of reaching the same interscholastic prominence statewide that athletics carries — with a belief that many of the frameworks that underpin successful working relationships in the athletics realm can be drawn upon to foster the involvement of more schools in Ohio quizbowl. He is eager to rebuild the circuit of activity in metro Columbus, and more than willing to take questions via his email contained within the “Contact Here” hyperlink above this paragraph.
